Master Builders Hotel

Quirky Luxury

Why not visit one of our sister hotels:

Accommodation

Many fine old naval ships were built at Buckler’s Hard. In fact you can still see the old grassy ‘slips’ just below the hotel. We think it appropriate to celebrate the work of Mr Henry Adams (the shipbuilder and former resident of the hotel building) by naming our rooms after some of his work.

We do very nice rooms in the main house, beautifully and individually created by the well-known interior designer Christine Boswell, and we do nice rooms in the Henry Adams wing (which cost less). We are also dog-friendly and have at least one room available for those who want to bring their pet with them.

So we start with a ship’s name, let our imagination go a little bit crazy, take this mix to Rajasthan where our craftsmen turn the concept into wonderfully theatrical, comfortable and beautifully bespoke furnishings, and this is what we get for very nice:

Pandora
Agamemnon
Swiftsure
Abundance
Husar (for Hillbrooke cognoscenti, please read Flashman)
Victorious
Fervent (for Hillbrooke wistful, please read Karma Sutra)
Romulus
Pacific

Our nice rooms will be even nicer next year when our imagination goes a bit mad again. But then they might also be a bit more expensive, so take advantage of us now.
